If you choose to do a Doctoral Degree with us, you’ll be appointed a supervisor who specialises in your proposed area of research and will be part of a much wider community of PhD distance students online.
We know that doing a research degree is not just about writing a thesis – there are a whole host of other opportunities that you can make the most of as a research student. iHumanities hosts many research seminars, talks, conferences, and skills workshops and collaborative projects that you will be able to attend and participate in to enhance your studies further.

Professional Doctorate Programmes
We are one of the world’s leaders in providing Professional Doctorates: these are for those that wish to undertake research studies at doctoral level related to their profession. We offer a Professional Doctorate in Interfaith Studies and one in English Language Education and English Literature.
The programmes are delivered full-time (3 years) and part-time (6 years). In Part 1 (1 or 2 years), you will complete 6 taught modules preparing you for your research. In Part 2 (2 or 4 years), you will conduct research for a work-based research thesis, supervised by a specialist. As a ProfDoc student, you’ll be part of our flourishing postgraduate community and be able to participate in all the interesting talks and seminars.
